The Chair approaches sustainability management from a life cycle perspective, focusing on environmental science and engineering, and including social and economic aspects in addition to environmental ones.

It carries out research into developing methodologies and applications in areas such as LCA, ecodesign, ecolabelling, environmental declarations, eco-innovation, sustainability, circular economy and environmental marketing.

Its lines of research are structured on an industry basis, centred on agrifood, waste management, sustainable construction and new materials.
