Dr. Leonidas Milios

Qualifications

Dr. Leonidas Milios holds a PhD in Industrial Environmental Economics from Lund University (Sweden), with a strong focus on circular economy policy analysis. He holds a MSc Degree in Environmental Engineering and Sustainable Infrastructure from the Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden), and a BSc Degree in Agricultural Science and Engineering from the Agricultural University of Athens (Greece). 

Professional and research activity

Dr. Milios currently works at the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission in the role of scientific project officer. His current research activity is related to the multiple facets of circular economy transition, including product and waste policy impact assessments, policy analysis and (just) transition frameworks, as well as design for recycling and the future governance of plastics. Prior to his current role, Dr. Milios worked as a lecturer at Lund University, and provided expert knowledge in various consulting roles, both in the public and private sector within the area of resources and waste management.
