The team is made up of an international group of leading researchers in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), ecodesign and ecolabelling, as applied to different industries. Several members of the team are also specialists in the environmental assessment of plans and programmes (Strategic Environmental Assessment) and projects (Environmental Impact Assessment), as applied to renewable energies and waste, among others. With backing from the Chair, the group has forged close ties with external researchers and regularly welcomes visiting scholars.

The research group is led by Dr Fullana i Palmer, a nationally and internationally renowned scientist who pioneered development and implementation of LCA methodology. He has been director of the Chair since May 2011.

The group has its own administrative staff and communication department and works closely with other professionals to meet the needs of the Chair’s ongoing research projects.
