Professional and Research Activity:
Maria graduated with a Chemical Engineering diploma from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2020) and has earned a MSc degree in Interdisciplinary Studies in Environmental, Economic and Social Sustainability, with a specialization in Urban and Industrial Ecology, from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2021). After graduating she worked as a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) specialist helping retailers calculate and cut their carbon emissions in real time, working with a variety of industries including fashion, food and pharmaceuticals. She joined the UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change in June 2024 as a Researcher working primarily at the GreenElectro project with the goal of using LCA as a tool to contribute to developing green and biodegradable electrodes for sustainable electrophysiology.
