The UNESCO Chair in Life Cycle and Climate Change ESCI-UPF has taken part in and led a large number of Spanish and international projects, including crossborder collaborations on Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), ecodesign, green procurement, ecolabelling, carbon and water footprints, environmental governance and how to incorporate a social and economic perspective into environmental impact assessments. Funded by public and private organisations, these projects help meet market needs while engaging with society and protecting for the environment—the three pillars of sustainable development.

The Chair has taken part in more than 100 research projects in Spain and worldwide.
