Dr. Ramon Xifré
Qualifications
Dr Ramon Xifré holds a BA in Economics and Business Administration from Universitat Pompeu Fabra, MSc in Economics and Philosophy from the London School of Economics, he was “Marie Curie” Fellow at the University of Munich (LMU) and he received his Economics PhD from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
Professional and research activity
Dr Ramon Xifré is Associate Professor at ESCI-UPF, faculty member at UPF Barcelona School of Management and Policy Research Fellow in the Public-Private Sector Research Center at IESE Business School. He is mainly interested in the competitiveness of the Spanish and EU economies and the related policies on issues like business environment, internationalization, R&D&I, industrial policy and sustainability. On these topics he has led and participated in several applied research projects funded both by public and private organizations, published numerous academic papers and commissioned reports. From January 2009 to December 2011, on leave from the university, he served as Senior Economic Advisor at the Spanish Prime Minister Economic Bureau.
