Qualifications

Dr Joan Ribas Tur holds a PhD in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). He also holds a Master Degree in Economics from UPF and an Undergraduate Bachelor Degree in Economics and Management from Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

Professional and research activity

Dr Joan Ribas Tur is currently a tenured Associate Professor and Academic Coordinator at ESCI-UPF, where he teaches in the undergraduate, graduate, and professional programs. He teaches “Macroeconomics” and “Economics and Globalization at the Bachelor's Degree in International Business and Marketing. At the Master of Science in Sustainability Management —a joint program from ESCI-UPF and BSM-UPF— he is charge of the “Economics for Sustainable Development” course.

He conducts research on International Economics, Sustainable Development and Environmental Economics. Member of the RISE Research in International Studies and Economics (ESCI-UPF) group, and the UNESCO Chair of Climate Life Cycle and Climate Change, both at ESCI-UPF. He is a frequent collaborator on press and media.

At ESCI-UPF since 2009, before that he taught at UPF, Universitat Abat Oliba-CEU and the Universitat de Girona.
